The marking of Earth Day serves as a reminder of the importance of environmental protection and sustainability. And it raises awareness about the critical environmental challenges facing our planet.
Our Community Action Plan theme: Environment and a Greener Community has the priority of “Developing Sustainable Community Initiatives” aligns with this topic and there are a lot of exciting things planned.
One of the Partnerships we’re really excited to be taking forward is that with Remake Scotland – Remake have made a fantastic impact over the past 13 years and their aim is to support communities to live sustainably and reduce their waste. They are currently gathering views of the community and need your help! There is a question specifically about Auchterarder so please do share your thoughts.
***Remake is an environmental charity with social impact, based on the outskirts of Crieff. We aim to help our community live sustainably and reduce their waste.
We need to expand beyond our current premises at Crieff Visitor Centre, which means finding additional space in or around Crieff to make this happen. With expanded premises, we could offer additional goods and services, and could save as much as 80,000kg from landfill each year! To help us to develop our plans, we would like to have your views on the services and benefits a new facility could provide, where it could be, and what it might look like.
We would love to hear your views by answering a few questions in our survey.
Together we can help our communities become more sustainable. ****
Remake came to Auchterarder last week – to the newly opened Creative Hub – to provide a fun filled creative reuse session. We’re hoping that this will be the first of many sessions as it was great fun! There are plans afoot for a teens session in June (after exam pressure!) and also for adults too. Watch this space for details.
