Gleneagles Station: Timetable Update
On Sunday, 17 May 2026, ScotRail introduced their new rail timetable throughout Scotland. In terms of trains serving Gleneagles Station, there are no material changes from the timetable that had operated since December 2025. Only a small number of journeys have very minor timing changes at some intermediate stations.
For local ScotRail services the timetable will operate until 27 September 2026, at which time there may be some tweaks for the autumn. With regards to the LNER Highland Chieftain to/from London, there are no timing changes from 17 May 2026 to the two daily trains serving Gleneagles Station. Bill Young, Chair, Strathallan Community Rail Partnership (SCRP) commented “We are pleased that the timetable enhancements at Gleneagles Station introduced in December 2024 are to continue. These improvements allow opportunities for direct travel to and from Edinburgh, Pitlochry and Inverness without the need to change at an intermediate station. In addition, there is one train an hour – each way – serving Dundee, Perth, Stirling and Glasgow (Monday to Saturday).” Bill continued “There were nearly 105,000 journeys made from/to Gleneagles Station in 2024/2025, which reflects a doubling of passenger usage in eleven years. SCRP will continue to advocate that additional trains should stop at Gleneagles; with local residents requesting more direct trains to/from Edinburgh.”
Andrew Warrington, Vice Chair, SCRP highlighted “SCRP have produced a new updated rail composite timetable that shows all trains serving Gleneagles Station from 17 May 2026, and this will be circulated within the local communities, as well as being available through social media.” Andrew added “SCRP had been keen to have better bus-rail co-ordination at Gleneagles Station. As a result, Docherty’s Midland Coaches revised their Service 19 and 20 timetables to enable more bus journeys from Aberuthven, Auchterarder and Blackford to complement rail services at Gleneagles Station. It’s encouraging to hear from Docherty’s Midland Coaches that they have experienced increased bus use to/from the Station.” About Strathallan Community Rail Partnership: Strathallan Community Rail Partnership (SCRP) is one of nine Community Rail Partnerships in Scotland.
