Shaping Our Future: What is LDP3?
LDP3 (Local Development Plan 3) is the statutory “blueprint” for Perth and Kinross that will guide all building and land use for the next 10 years. It isn’t just about where new houses go; it dictates how we protect our green spaces, where businesses can grow, and how our local infrastructure—like schools and roads—will cope with change.
The Impact on Auchterarder: As a town that has seen significant growth, LDP3 is our chance to ensure future development is sustainable and serves the community’s needs. Its a critical opportunity for sharing views on all the items that the community highlighted in the Community Action Plan consultation such as:
- Infrastructure: Road Infrastructure, Health services, Schools and Community Facilities keeping pace with new homes.
- Town Centre Vitality: Supporting our High Street and local businesses.
- Green Spaces & Environment: Protecting the “sparkle” and natural beauty that makes our town special.
Don’t Just Watch It Happen—Shape It!
The Council is currently in the “Evidence Gathering” stage, and your voice is essential. Decisions made now will set the rules for the next decade. We encourage everyone to stay informed so that Auchterarder remains the vibrant community we all love. We’ve shared news of the consultation stages undertaken so far (Big Place Conversation, sharing topic papers etc) and will continue to do so.
