ScotRail have notified Strathallan Community Rail Partnership (SCRP) that the car park at Gleneagles Station is to be completely closed on Tuesday, 11 August 2026 for re-lining works.
They are advising their customers to make alternative arrangements for accessing the Station during the closure, and today (Thursday) posted notices at the entrance to the car park and put copies of the notice under the windscreen wipers of vehicles parked in the car park.
SCRP have been assured that the local leaflet drop in the car park will be repeated on Friday and Monday, so hopefully most car park users will be aware of the closure.
Local bus services operated by Docherty’s Midland Coaches will continue to serve Gleneagles Station as normal on 11 August 2026 and will provide a convenient alternative way of reaching or departing from the Station. The current timetable for Services 19/19A/20 (dated 27 January 2025) shows which journeys serve Gleneagles Station directly.
Should any drivers choose to park on the access road to/from Gleneagles Station during the car park closure, they must ensure that they park responsibly so that bus and emergency vehicle access to the Station is not impeded. Additionally, no cars should park in or adjacent to the bus turning area at the Station.
SCRP had endeavoured to get ScotRail to change/reschedule their car park closure plans, but this was unfortunately not operationally practicable. We regret any inconvenience that the car park closure may have for local customers of ScotRail and LNER.
