PKC has streamlined a couple of funds to better incorporate community input into how these resources are allocated. Throughout the summer, PKC communities will have the opportunity to share their priorities.
Alongside this consultation, PKC aims to establish a local steering group, ideally composed of members representing each theme in the survey. This group will review community feedback from surveys and explore how this input can be translated into positive projects. These projects will then be linked with established community groups. For instance, if residents desire more vibrant high streets, the steering group could speak with “Bloom” to facilitate this – exploring what fund would make this possible – for Auchterarder bloom it might be a tool to make watering easier as this is a big undertaking throughout the summer. Similarly, if more benches are needed, “Men’s Shed” could potentially construct them, with funding provided for materials.
It’s all about little projects which make a big difference, ensuring these initiatives are directly responsive to community needs. Therefore, if you believe it’s crucial for the community’s voice to be heard in how funds are spent, your participation is important! Surveys can be found in the library in Auchterarder and also online here – https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=6dxqdyZdSUeiAvCf7-EFkPMJuHc0taNBs7po3YXG54FUNzYyN1dCME9YTzJHNTU1QUg5N05VV1BLQSQlQCN0PWcu&origin=QRCode
