Below is the update provided in the Community Council meeting this week. CC Update April 2025
Connected Community: Conversations with PKC regarding the Sport and Recreation facilities both at the rear of the School and the land north towards Casleton continue with a meeting planned for the end of May. An indicative timeframe has been shared for progressing this complex situation and we hope to share an update from PKC in due course.
Green Spaces: A full update on Kincardine Fields will be shared in May, detailing some of the progress made to date. Presently, we are awaiting a decision on funding, to progress with the land valuation. As soon as this is known, next steps will be decided.
Local Services: Library: Meeting dates to note for the diary:
The Save our Rural Libraries wider group had a meeting last night to discuss next steps for working together. Auchterarder was represented with this and the next meeting of the Auchterarder group is on Monday at 1.30pm in the library.
CPK are hosting a meeting in the Library on the 7th of May – 6pm-7pm. They hope to explore how to work with communities going forward in exploring sustainable solutions. We are jeen to understand whats meant by this and appreciate the Councillors support with all aspects of this.
We’ll then host a local meeting in the Aytoun Hall in June – exploring what the future of the library could be – people had some superb ideas in the run up to the budget meetings and we’ve now got the opportunity to make the library even more than it is now, with something for everyone in the community. An opportunity to be grasped!
Details of this event will be shared as soon as date is fixed.
Traffic and Transport: CAP would like to extend gratitude to the volunteers of ACBUG for the successful handover of the Town Bus to PKC. A lot of hard work and time has gone into running the town bus and the difference its made to local people has been significant.
Volunteer drivers meeting 30th April at 6.30pm in the Pavillion.
High Street: Shopkeepers are planning to mark VE day with some colourful bunting and perhaps more. There will be a letter trail in the shop windows too so a nice reason to take a wander up and down the high street and shop local
