Welcome to our Autumn Community Action Plan Update:
A&A Connected AGM: Complimenting the fantastic efforts made across the whole community, strategic matters in the Community Action Plan have been progressed by a group of individuals with experience across all 6 CAP themes. The group formalised into the charity Auchterarder & Aberuthven Connected last year and were delighted to share updates and news in the first AGM last month. A sincere thankyou to everyone who attended, it was nice to see so many familiar faces and we hope you enjoyed hearing about what’s been happening and sharing ideas for what’s next.

Environment and a Greener Community:
Kincardine Fields – Good progress is being made. A group of 12 individuals are working together on taking this project forward following the land valuation in June. We’d like to extend our thanks to the Auchterarder and District Community Trust and PKC for their support with the costs of the valuation. If you’d like to hear more about what’s happening or get involved, we can put you in touch with the Chair of the Kincardine Fields group. Updates will also be shared on the Kincardine Fields Info Hub on the website
The ACSR Green Spaces group continue to take forward other green space projects in the town – progressing a compostable toilet in the main park, enhancements to Dunlop Park and more. If you’d like to learn more, their next meeting is on the 21st of October. 7pm in the Pavilion.

We are looking forward to partnering with Remake on their Sustainable textiles programme and are looking to gauge interest in a series of sessions held in Auchterarder where you’d learn to use a sewing machine – if you’re interested, please share your details here
Local Services and Housing Development:
Library – Monthly meetings are taking place between the Library group and Culture Perth and Kinross. There is a strong plan for increasing footfall and engagement with the Library and lots happening! Conversation Corner is a new weekly meeting where friendly conversations are had– topics change each week and so far have included holidays, grandparents, school days. Everyone is welcome – Friday 11am.
CAP funds have purchased a “Community Group Information” folder for the library in which groups and organisations can leave their details – as a way of people learning more about how to get involved.
Help people to learn about what your group does by leaving a poster about your group in this folder!
CPK have invited Denise Mina to our Library on the 21st of November as part of Book Week Scotland. She’s a popular Scottish Author and spaces will go quickly but the Library group asked for 15 tickets to be made available for in person collection in the library.
There are so many new reasons to visit the library – why not think about “borrow not buy” for your next book and explore what else is happening!
Connected Community:
Auchtoberfest
Its less than three weeks until our Community Beer Festival! 25th October, 2pm-7pm Aytoun Hall. Come along and enjoy a social afternoon and a few locally sourced beers (or some prosecco and gin if that’s your preference) Tickets cost £12 with all profits going back into community projects. Tickets available via this link
Fairer Community Funding / Cosy Spaces – A great turnout of groups attended the meeting about community funding, and we’re excited to see the range of projects which the community will be able to vote on towards the end of this month. We will share details of how to vote shortly – pencil in the morning of 8th of November for in Person voting in the Aytoun Hall.
A&A Connected are delighted to have submitted an application for Cosy Spaces 2025-2026 to support the amazing work that local groups do in providing a warm welcome over the winter (and beyond!) Thank you to everyone who’s supported this with information.
