As we move into Spring we would like to give a big shout out to the volunteers who over the winter months have, thanks to funding from Perth and Kinross council, provided a warm welcome in our community with activities and sessions for all. These events involved 13 community groups from across our town and provided hundreds of cups of hot tea, and soup each week as part of initiative of warm spaces being offered across Perth and Kinross. These are spaces which offer refreshments or food offering a warm welcome to members of the public at no cost and which may also offer a social or other form of activity. Once again this initiative has been a resounding success building on the spirit of previous years and offering a safe space that helps to reduce social isolation and gives people the chance to connect and actively engage in our community. Another added benefit is that it has helped to increase numbers of people using our library, particularly young people.
Groups involved this year
Archway, Auchterarder library, A&A Connected, Community Sports Hub, Food Bank, Friends of Aytoun Hall, Inner Wheel, Logos, Mens Shed, Our Ladies Church, Parent Council, TCSoA Parent Council and SWI.
