Bloom Newsletter

February Newsletter:

YEUCH!

Well that’s the Auchterarder Bloom weather report for this week!😄

Hope you are all well folks.

Firstly, a big THANK YOU to everyone who went potty over the last week or two and magically produced a plethora of plant pots.  We will be doing a count later today but it looks as if we have reached the magic 530.  Tremendous effort and avoids purchasing more pots which is good news for the planet.  It is interesting to note that although social media played an important part in achieving this challenge, at least 50% was on the back of word of mouth.

Anyhow, as you will be aware, we will be utilising these pots on 12 February at 10am at the polytunnel.  I have a couple of names but if anyone else is free please let me know so we can sort out the logistics.  Before that though, the pots will need to be partially filled with compost and watered in readiness for the12th February.

So you probably know what is coming next……..😗  Is anyone free on Monday 9 February at 10am to help fill the pots at the polytunnel please.  It’s a mucky job so leave the cashmeres at home and bring the gloves!  If you are, please let me know.  Hopefully it won’t take more than an hour or 2 at most.

Finally, if you see any of the gentlemen from Auchterarder Mens’ Shed, please make a point of thanking them as on Thursday 5th February they will be putting their carpentry skills to great use in updating the staging/shelving in the polytunnel.  They’re repairs will mean less back aches for you all.  A great example of community groups working together – thank you to John Boyd for making this happen.

That’s it for now.

Take care everyone.
