Strathallan Community Rail Partnership

Strathallan Community Rail Partnership (SCRP) was set up in December 2015 and covers three stations, namely Gleneagles, Dunblane and Bridge of Allan.. Our aim is to provide a link between the railway and the communities served by our stations. Board members come from Bridge of Allan, Dunblane, Blackford, Crieff and Auchterarder. In addition, representatives of the railway, local authority officials and councillors attend our Board meetings. Anyone interested in finding out what we do, or willing to help in our activities, should email us.

We have produced and printed and downloadable walks leaflets so that rail passengers outside our area may enjoy pleasant walks from Bridge of Allan and Dunblane stations. We are in the process of developing leaflets to encourage Active Travel to our stations, starting with Bridge of Allan. We would like to develop similar leaflets for Gleneagles but have not started any discussions due to the difficulty caused by crossing the A9 dual carriageway. We continue to liaise with Transport Scotland and the railway authorities to encourage active travel and the use of public transport.

In order to encourage more people to use the railway, we have taken every opportunity to advise ScotRail that a much-improved rail service for Gleneagles and a more regular train service from Bridge of Allan and Dunblane to Perth and Dundee is required. We are pleased that in May 2022, ScotRail plan to introduce an hourly day time service between Glasgow (Queen Street) and Dundee, calling at Stirling, Bridge of Allan , Dunblane, Gleneagles, Perth, Invergowrie and Dundee.

In order to let passengers know of our existence, we are preparing posters to be displayed at each of our stations. We have also been liaising with appropriate local groups and the railway authorities with a view to finding uses for the empty rooms at Gleneagles station.
